My 2023 Fitness Goals

Hi everyone!


As promised, here is my list of my 2023 fitness goals. I'm starting with my more general/habit-based goals, then my three big goals. Next week I'll let ya know my breakdown of how I'm going to try to reach those three goals.


Habits:

Do either yoga or mobility work every morning


Stretch for at least 15 minutes a day


Walk 7500 steps a day


Take one full rest day a week


Now for the big stuff….. drumroll please!


  1. Run a 5k without stopping/walking

  2. Do 5 full push-ups

  3. Get my left & right split


I'm starting with the 5k being my main focus but I'll casually work on the other two until I can do it, then I’ll start hitting the pushups hard and so on. Last year I made TONS of goals and they were all super vague and I didn’t really have a plan for how I was going to hit them (if they were even hittable!) This time I’m trying to keep it small, focused, and with clear actionable steps, I can take to achieve that goal. Definitely do some searches about SMART goals and how to set yourself up for success on that front, it’s really helpful and whenever I’m setting a goal and it has really helped me.


Remember when you’re setting your goals for the new year, they shouldn’t be about punishing yourself or trying to fit what someone else thinks you should be. They need to be goals for you to help you grow and become a better version of yourself, not to make yourself small.
