So this week was a little bit of a mixed bag. I got in a few workouts, but work is finally slowing down so I am tired and have been resting. When I say resting, I mean barely keeping my eyes open until 9 pm when I go to sleep, haha!
And the workouts I did get in kicked my butt, haha! But it’s been a really nice feeling sore again, feeling that I’ve made some progress and have made things happen. I’m also really excited because this time next week I’ll be up in LA on vacation! I have workouts planned, but I’m not super strict while I’m on vacation. We also tentatively have some plans like hiking or a beach day so I’ll end up getting some exercise one way or another.
I’m also really excited because I’m in the home stretch of my current workout program, and soon I’ll start my new plan that I discussed a little last week! I have thought about it and I have decided on my spilt and the days I’ll do each thing. Here’s how it is going to break down by day:
Monday: Full Body Strength
Tuesday: Cardio
Wednesday: Upper Body Strength
Thursday: Cardio
Friday: Lower Body Strength
Saturday: Rest/Active Recovery
Sunday: 5k Sunday
For 5k Sunday, my plans are to take things very, very slowly. I’m going to start by just walking half a mile and seeing how I feel. From there I’ll ramp up until I can walk a full 5k. Then I’ll start the classic walk/run until hopefully, eventually, I’ll be able to run an actual 5k! I don’t want to be like an ultra-marathoner or anything like that, but I have always found running relaxing and I really want to get back into it, but take it easy so I don’t hurt myself or make my sciatica flare up. I’m hoping since I’ll be doing so much strength training and stretching I won’t have too many issues.
So that’s my long-term game plan, as always I will keep you all updated, and I will keep the playlists coming! Click the link for this week’s playlist, and have a great one!
